_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Janet was probably born before 1802 and died sometime between 1821 (the birth of her son James) and 1884 (the death of her son James). I have never found any historical documents about Janet. Few facts are known about JOHN KEDDIE and Janet Andison, but some assumptions can be made. John and Janet would probably have been born between 1775 and 1800, depending on how old they were when they got married, and whether James was their oldest or youngest son. Their only identified son, JAMES, was born in 1820 in Berwickshire so, although John may not have originated from Berwickshire, he lived there around 1820. James' death certificate describes John's occupation as 'Farm Servant' so, like most people in the Border counties at that time, John was employed in agriculture. Helen's surname may have been Anderson, not Andison. A 'Frederick Anderson' was a witness at her granddaughter Margaret's wedding, and may have been Margaret's cousin. |
