Joan Cavers (1829 - 1881) Joan was born on 19 April 1829 in Hobkirk, Roxburgh, the daughter of Adam Cavers and Janet Clerk. She was baptised on 7 June 1829 in the Parish of Hobkirk. She died on 30 April 1881 at 14 Dale Street, Galashiels from cancer of the stomach. |

In 1841 Joan was living with her family in Swanshield, aged 12. In 1851 she was a farm servant living at Newton Cot House in Bedrule. |
